GSP475 Course Project Second Life! WK7 Progress 3 and Q/A

Before We answer the question, let's show my final Progress!

So here I am, in the Final World. The question will be, where am I? I'm in the world, where there is full of romance in the fall season... well there is no one of course. So moving on the topic. The one I'm standing, is the location of where people will be having it on the dance floors. 






So I notice that there is a path of having me head to destination. However, I continue to walk until there is the dead end... wait, I can see the view instead. I'll buy it and look at the landscape, and it's beautiful.









Well I'm heading down the hill and I eventually found this place. Well, it seem that this is similar to Prom Dance, which it can be very interesting  I hope there is more than that, and it's perfect to start with romance.








Well, I jumped downhill for the second time and it seem that I notice that this is where people get married in the romance. I took a picture because I can use this idea as a marriage theme, espcially if I can plan ahead. 







Summarize your experience in SL from the point of view of a researcher, what did you learn?
Well, before I start joining in the Second Life, I mentioned that I don't like PC Games and I don't like to have social conversion online. After a while, I find it more interesting for each week, and even if I don't get to talk much as I expected, there was unexpected moment. Every time I head to certain world like this, I wonder why people don't have a clean environment and why people can't be in peace like this one. After playing this, I realized that I somehow playing Sims, but that's find with me, I learn various of valuable lessons. I hope that it can apply to realistic world.

So it seem that I went to different world, without saving the game. Well, I'm at the one of the island where there are various of international countries. I been heading to various of types and I notice that there are some place that are related to Japan. So, I decide to give a shot by heading to the destination.

I notice that this is the beginning of the location of Japan. It has some kind of the entrance but it doesn't slightly bother me because I notice that there was a teleport. Then again I was like forget this and let's go to this place.

So I went through the entrance, and have various type of the entrance building. Since I'm walking though, I notice that there are shines, and various type of tradition building with modern shops.

Since I'm heading the stairs, which I didn't notice till now. It shows various type of building, the light lamp, and the amazing waterfall.

 Beautiful view to see the night. It's too bad that I don't have a friend that is a girl with me.

 Very tradition and it has some type of sliding doors, which I find that interesting. It does remind me about of seeing this location in the movie called "The Wolverine.

I'm going to take a break to get myself a "sake" and sushi. See you later!

GSP475 Course Project Second Life! WK7 Progress 1

So Apparently, the Candy Land lasted a week and the event is over. So I decide to jump another world.

...and I come to... what the heck? Ahem... This is a Church or Temple, depending on the religion. Well, I'm Christian and I never seen a game that will be this dedication to church. Well, it's a welcoming sign about Jesus Christ and learn his word.

So, as I look around I notice two things: One will be the big house while on the right you will see the event schedule. Well, what bothers me the most is that there something inside that are intersting, but yet it's strange at the same time. I wonder what's inside.

On my right, there is a sign that talks about the schedule and meeting, including the bible study. I find that difficult because we have to find the schedule and able to complete the assignment without any situation and serious business. 

Well, this is to be continue so I'll better up finishing up tomorrow before final and Senior Project.

GSP475 Course Project Second Life! WK6 Progress 3 and Q/A

Almighty, we got some fun in the autumn and I have to change the world because there might be something new that can catch my attention  Well, I was picking random world and I somehow fall into this world. It's candy world. For some reason, why do I remember of Katy Perry's California Girls. Is it because it's somehow related to it or not? Well this world, you might see not often because it's yearly based theme, so I think it's not going to be any issue. 

Well, it's not candy world, but it's called Candy Fair 2013. It sound like that most of the stages will be feature in house made of candy  instead of water, you have chocolate... but the bridge is the same. 

 Well, if you see the chocolate, it seem that its known as the pond or water. I think the color blocks are sidewalk. It seem that it doesn't sound too bad. Also the leaves is also known as chocolate and the house is made of candies. Very intersting.





Well, now that I saw some of the interesting place, it's time for me to walk on the "sidewalk". I notice that the grass is remained the same, except the signs is somehow have some candy name, but make the stages is interesting.

 Well I didn't get to walk in that place, I suppose I go to another area. I notice that there are marshmallow that can be used as a theme. I notice that there are smores, which the theme can be very useful for decoration.




Lastly, I went in for further marshmallow and I find there is mostly not mushroom expect different candy houses, different methods. For example you see the candy can as support house and you see the roof as gram crackers. It seem that there are more than I expected.

• How do people respond if you tell them that you are a student studying SL as part of a university project?
• Well, People will ignore me or if they did say it, then they say, "Oh. Okay, go have fun working". Others said that, "Oh, I have done this before. It's for school, huh?"
  
• 17) How closely does behavior in SL correspond to that in RL (real life)
• Second LIfe is having interesting moment, but real life... you don't have much interesting life, depending on personality. Of course that you can't get everything you want in real life, but you do have real experience.

You know, this is the first time of having some decorate based on Autumn. I realized that October is part of fall because there wasn't much of leaves at my home. Well, if you look  the entire environment, it's like your in vacation in either Las Vegas, Yosemite, or Grand Canyon. The texture is completely formed in cleaner and brighter colors. I never expect that it will be more improvement compare to my old computer (well since the graphics card didn't go well).

Well, before checking the inside, I went to check the first half of the outside, and I love the environment. The water is flowing well, , the ground texture is cleaner and the environment is amazing.





Inside of building, you see somehow related to medieval knights theme. I find that strange at first because you don't know what's there, but at the same time it's pretty interesting. Pretty Neat.

 Well if you go up to the building (I mean, the tallest building), you see that the environment but some are not completed. It's not the problem because if you look at the ground, it's very neat. You see more on the texture, but no animation of water, which that's fine with me.



So I head down and look at inside, but I did notice that I forgot to take the picture to other side. Well you see that there more of animation and texture. I wonder how they make the autumn theme really well. It might took them the longest time to complete the work.

So admit it. You loved Freaking LOVE cars. Who does not, well, I'm going to hunt you down and bring my baseball bat - I mean, take you to Automobile Convection. Well, regardless of my harsh or joking words, we are in the automobile world. Since we left off in the Car world, our next mission is how they were made and what type of car that they added.

So, looking at the cars on the left sign, they got some swag cars... Sports car. Well, the model is there and they do have the color pallets, so no need to worry about missing out your favorite car.





Part 2: Again same possible theory of having good cars and pallet. What go wrong?








Part 3: Well, that is very classical car. You see, in this world, we won't able to find any old school cars and even if you see it, you will realized that the car is very expensive.

Now that you think about it, it isn't just about having car collection, but you can use the cars to create any attention and complete any task. Here you are with little GO-kart. Very Interesting, right?






Overall, we know that it's very interesting how the cars have convention, comparing to video game convention. Now that it's has some moments, I think I'm going to stop writing for now and start driving. The cars have various type of engines and models and I think this is the most hardworking to create these models.

GSP475 Course Project Second Life! WK5 Progress 3 and Q/A

So where we are. The Final Post of the WEEK! Well, I wished I have four of them but things didn't turnout so well since my laptop is damage, Senior Project, etc.  Well I went to the different world and here I am: The World .... of Planets.

Well, Living on the Planets, I see the clear version of the meteors and rocks, including planets. The Texture is very interesting and I notice that there are five rocks lying around. Those are the planets that you want to go to and there is a return planet button. Pretty neat. 






So, I was walking around trying something new. Pretty Good, but something tells me that we haven't try out it. There is few location that you can play games with other people. I just left because it requires money. So I was walking around and I found this empty button. I was like what's this button do?

Well... I'm flying around the orbs... That answer my question...

After falling down, like Thor of Marvel's Avenger, I stumbled to this location, It kinda does like you want to go back to planet. Anyway the Texture is nice, way better than the Sims (not to disrespect them, but it's the truth).

Well, I'm at the racing field and looks like I can pick a model or car... well to be continue.








How do the 3D spaces used by different people online in SL reflect their interests & personalities?
Well, the thing that people should realize that they can get anything and can do fun without any issue. However, there are difference because in reality, you have to take the hard way and the easy for the virtual. We have different opinion, thoughts, dreams, and personalities because we enter both virtual and reality.

What type of informal and formal behavior are visible in SL? How many compare to rituals etc in everyday life?
I will say that the formal will be invitational to the party and you can just teleport to any locations with any issue. I find that interesting because it's about saving time and able reach the player's expectation. Rituals have various so I don't know how many will be, but it's more than I anticipated. Who knows what's coming next.

Welcome to Week 2 Progress!

It appear that I will be getting the new laptop, but until then, I will be using the old laptop until I have enough money. Well, since the camp was fun and I find that we should change to different world. So, I did mention that there was an old cowboy or country theme, so I begin to research it. After abusing the transport button, I ended up picking this location. Pretty Interesting, right? Just to make sure, I decide to go walk around.

So I was walking the bridge and saw the ocean. Beautiful, just Beautiful and i'ts very clean. I find that it's very good place to have good event and to be honest if this was in sunset, it will be the Master Piece.



After looking at one side of the bridge, I heard music from the other side, so I decide to check it out. I saw a party stage. It seem that since it's October , I'm prepared to head there and as I head there, I remember that this might be an Halloween party.





So I'm heading to the party, and I found this. I notice that it's a women posing as a sign, but I thought of myself. "Is a strip club or is that where you get some ladies". So I was heading to the building, but there isn't anyone there. I guess it's either out of business or no one was there.

So here I am, the party is about to start, but it's not theme is not there. Don't worry, I can find out later tonight if I have a time. Let see what I can do from now one.

Before heading that location, I want to climb up to see what's like to see the view. The second floor was consider the vip area, so the floor row wasn't vip, so I decide to go there. It's actually a second floor and second floor is the third floor.





Overall, I find that interesting, so it's best to move one. Time for next day advanture

GSP475 Course Project Second Life! WK5 Progress 1

Before we can start with Progress, My laptop (mostly work with senior project) is crashed or destroyed due to overuse for three years. What's worse that the warranty expired and I often use my brother's laptop to work on the video and project. As a result. No videos until further notice, but I'm willing to upload the videos. Without a minute to waste here we go!

 So, we got some night time to spend, which I would travel around the world, and even if people loved me or not, I have to go out and have some kind of advanture. So here I am in unknown (I think it's name of Aki Aki) place, where is mostly a land without any people. I find that strange at first because it's the first time that everyone isn't there, but to sum up the issue, we have amazing environment and terrain. Let's talk about the image, step by step:

Night-Time Camp

Here is hour first location, where we see the house and the ocean. Of course it's sound safe to live in but once earthquake or tsunami comes in, we are going to have serious issue. I find that scary, but it's best that I stay the land for a while.

Camp Time!

Since I was walking around, I notice that there was a campfire that was set up on the right, which gives me some of the idea of how it's important to spend a night with beach, watching sky and stars.

I was walking around and I found this flower-type rocks and it was more like "Pretty, pretty, shiny shiny. Pretty, Pretty, Shiny, Shiny". So I decided to walk there and the grass texture, along with the lake is more beautiful than I expected. I was like, "Why doesn't the reality have these kind of methods. It will be so much better."
